James Luetkehoelter has announced his book on SQL Server Disaster Recovery is complete. It is published by aPress and due out in March, according to the aPress site.

I will try and grab a copy as soon as I can convince the wife it's a book I need. James indicates in his post that the book is intended to be somewhat controversial and a little off the beaten path. My attitude towards disaster recovery is pretty simple: if you've got a better method for me to get systems back on-line faster than my current methods, I'm all ears. Who cares about controversy? Time is money to most organizations. So I'm looking forward to getting my grubby little hands on this book.
I must admit that this is one of those things that I really procrastinate on learning more and I'm sure that will come back to bite me in the future. I'll definitely take a look at this book. Thankfully I can expense all my books to my company so no need to convince the wife that I need it. ;-)
When we expense books, it becomes the company's asset. That's the reason I typically get my own copy. That way I can mark it up (something I carried over from high school English) and "make it mine."
I have a month to work on her. I've been pretty good about book purchases. I'll just have to lay off the boardgames.
